Report: Heat Could Pursue Trade For Kings’ DeMar DeRozan

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Miami Heat could pursue a trade for Sacramento Kings guard DeMar DeRozan this offseason.

The Heat are looking to add more talent around Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro after getting swept in the first round of this year’s playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“The Heat are expected to be buyers this offseason and seek to make immediate upgrades around Adebayo and Herro, sources said,” Siegel wrote. “Pat Riley is always aggressive on the summer trade market, and he will be involved in any conversations about All-Star players hitting the market.

“It is highly unlikely that all three of Duncan Robinson, Terry Rozier, and Andrew Wiggins begin the 2025-26 season on Miami’s roster. DeRozan is once again viewed by other teams as a potential target for Riley and the Heat.”

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Kings could trade DeRozan this summer. Sacramento and general manager Monte McNair parted ways in April. The Kings hired longtime NBA exec Scott Perry.

DeRozan appeared in 77 games this season. He averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 47.7% from the field, 32.8% from beyond the arc and 85.7% from the free-throw line.

The Kings missed the playoffs for the second straight year.

A USC product, DeRozan will make $24,750,000 next season and $25,740,000 in 2026-27, the final year of his contract.

The 35-year-old DeRozan has career averages of 21.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He’s made six All-Star teams and three All-NBA teams.
