If Giannis Antetokounmpo requests a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason, one NBA analyst believes the Houston Rockets should trade four players for the future Hall of Famer.
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Bucks and Rockets:
Houston Rockets Receive: PF Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: SG Jalen Green, PF Jabari Smith Jr., F Cam Whitmore, PG Aaron Holiday, 2025 first-round pick (via Phoenix Suns), 2027 first-round pick (via Phoenix Suns)
The Golden State Warriors beat the Rockets in the first round of this year’s playoffs in seven games.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Bucks in the first round in five games. Milwaukee has won just one postseason series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns in six games.
The Bucks signed Antetokounmpo to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023. Antetokounmpo will make $54,126,380 next season.
One of the best players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks for the Bucks this season.
Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. The superstar forward has career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks.
“In this proposal, the two-time MVP would join a core of Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, Fred VanVleet, Dillon Brooks, Reed Sheppard and Tari Eason to create a powerhouse in the West ready to compete for championships,” Swartz wrote. “Houston averaged just 93.3 points in its four losses to the Warriors. Antetokounmpo has averaged 30.0 points per game over the last five seasons and would be the offensive answer this team needs.”
